Cafe Sci – Ode to Words postponed until further notice

September 26, 2009

Apologies for this late posting. Was stuck out in the floods myself and only able to get online now. By now, many of you heard that the Cafe Sci session was postponed due to Typhoon Ondoy. Hope everyone’s keeping well and dry.

Please check in again by Monday evening for the new date (we’re aiming to have it next Saturday, Oct 3).

An Ode to Words

September 13, 2009

We all share ourselves in a river of words as we swim in languages that allow us to connect with one another. Whether you prefer to talk, text or you work with words as your craft, we are what we say, read or write.

Café Scientifique waxes poetic in exploring the science of language –how humans developed it and how we hone it, with cognitive psychologist Emy Liwag and poet Patrick Rosal.

Saturday, 26 September 2009, 3-5pm, at R.O.X., Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Dr. Emy Liwag is a professor of psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University and an enthusiastic member of the Exhibit Advisory Council of The Mind Museum.

Patrick Rosal is a US-based author of two full-length award-winning poetry collections, Uprock Headspin Scramble and Dive, and most recently My American Kundiman.
